Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery – Certificate Training Programme
To register with APhA for this training, please click HERE
Pharmacists are gaining authority to immunize in an increasing number of countries. The USA has been among the first countries to allow pharmacists to vaccinate, under specific conditions, one of which is to complete a certificate training programme. This programme is being offered as a satellite at the congress, where FIP is partnering with the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). The APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate training programme provides pharmacists with the necessary skills to become a primary source for vaccine information and administration within their pharmacy.
There are three components to the certificate training programme:
The self-study learning activity is designed to ensure that all participants understand vaccine-preventable diseases and the role of pharmacists as vaccine advocates and administrators. The learning modules present in-depth information on immunology and practice implementation and include real-life case studies designed to help reinforce and evaluate participants’ understanding of key information and concepts.
The second part of the certificate training programme is an active learning, live seminar focusing on pharmacy practice implementation. The live training seminar is based on the experience of practitioners involved in immunization advocacy and administration. The training seminar reinforces and expands on the self-study
programme and addresses areas such as immunization needs and injection-technique training. For more in depth information, please take a look here.
This activity is supported by Sanofi Pasteur and Pfizer Inc.
